An Overview about ADO
Abs Development Organization for woman and Child (ADO) is a well-established national, humanitarian, developmental, non-profit and non-governmental organization, founded in August 1996 by a group of Yemeni girls to provide a better life for women, children, and youths. ADO has been operating in Yemen for more than 27 years with an outstanding coverage to the deprived rural areas located on the coast of Tehama and other various areas in Yemen aiming to get rid of poverty and infectious diseases. Since its inception, ADO has implemented over 213 developmental and humanitarian projects. According to ADO latest cumulative statistics, by end of the year 2021,atotal of 6,695,412peoplewere benefited from these interventions. Consequently, the organization has established itself among the most effective civil society organizations in Yemen that are working on issues related to livelihood, health, education, and WASH supporting women, children, and youth. Operating from its Headquarter office in Sana’a, and through its branch offices in Al Hodeida, Hajjah, Abs, Raymah Taiz and Aden, ADO provides educational, health, livelihood and WASH services to urban and rural communities. As ADO believes that women are the essence of life, it has devoted all its activities and programs to empower and educate women who will lead to a modern and just state. ADO also believes that protecting and caring for children will result in a prosperous future; free from crime and terrorism. Job objectives/ Scop: The MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) Assistant will support the implementation of the MEAL system for the “Provision of Lifesaving Multi-Sectoral Food, Shelter, and Protection Assistance to Vulnerable IDPs, Host Communities, and Marginalized Groups in Abs District, Hajjah Governorate” project funded under the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF).
The MEAL Assistant will support monitoring, data collection, verification, accountability, reporting, and learning activities across the Food Security, Protection, and Shelter/NFI sectors, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, cluster standards, Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS), and ADO MEAL policies.
Reports to:MEAL Officer / Quality Manager
Supervisor on: Enumerators and Temporary Data Collectors
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Support the implementation of the project MEAL framework, indicators, and monitoring plan.
•Assist in conducting baseline, post-distribution monitoring (PDM), endline assessments, beneficiary verification, and field monitoring visits.
•Support tracking progress against project indicators and targets across FSAC, Protection, and Shelter/NFI activities.
•Conduct routine field monitoring to verify the quality, timeliness, and accountability of project implementation.
•Ensure proper documentation of distributions, cash assistance activities, shelter interventions, protection services, and referrals.
•Assist in monitoring Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) activities and beneficiary satisfaction.
•Support the design and revision of data collection tools, questionnaires, checklists, and monitoring forms.
•Collect, clean, validate, and enter quantitative and qualitative data using digital tools such as KoBo Toolbox and ODK.
•Maintain updated project databases and beneficiary records.
•Ensure data is disaggregated by sex, age, and disability (SADD).
•Support implementation of the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism (CFM).
•Receive, document, and follow up on beneficiary complaints and feedback through hotline, field visits, and feedback channels.
•Assist in preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and final MEAL reports.
•Support preparation of donor reports, cluster reporting, 4Ws, and ActivityInfo submissions.
•Document lessons learned, success stories, case studies, and best practices.
•Support training and orientation sessions for field staff and enumerators on MEAL tools and data collection procedures.
•Ensure all monitoring activities comply with humanitarian principles, safeguarding standards, PSEA policies, and Do No Harm principles.
•Perform any other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor relevant to the position..

Part (2) person specification for this job:
Required qualifications and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Information Management, Computer Science, Public Administration, or any relevant field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in MEAL, monitoring, or information management within humanitarian or development projects.
• Previous experience in humanitarian projects funded by UN agencies, YHF/CBPF.
• Experience in conducting assessments, PDMs, surveys, and field verification activities.
• Familiarity with humanitarian standards, cluster systems, and accountability frameworks.
• Experience using KoBo Toolbox, ODK, Excel, and other data management tools.
• Strong report writing and documentation skills in both Arabic and English.
• Knowledge of Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) monitoring is an asset.
• Understanding of Protection, PSEA, gender, and disability inclusion principles is preferred.
